hi there

I am trying to get hold of a copy of Fial Cut Pro that will work with OS9?

I believe it was version 3.0?

does anyone know where I can get hold of it?

I looked on amazon and ebay - but can't find it

I have to ask: why in the world do you need to use 12 year old software on a G5 Mac (assuming the machine in your sig is what you want to do this on)? What OS are you on? Why can't you use a more recent version?

FCP 1-3 work with OS 9. FCP 3 also has an installer for OSX. All later FCPs are OSX-only.

You might look here. It's a forum thread on Macintosh Garden, which specializes in Mac Abandonware.

it's for a few Powermac G3s (blue & white)

I know it sounds crazy - but in my opinion - if a powermac g3 could edit DV in 1999, then it c an edit DV in 2011

iMovie on Mac OS 9 was a crashy bag of hurt in my experience. I was working in the Mac sections of CompUSA and Circuit City back then, and iMovie was always crashing. If you really want to use a G3 B <ampersand> W for that purpose, I wouldn't touch OS 9. 10.3 is a much better choice.

Agreed. 10.3 will be very slow, but at least it won't crash 15 times a day.
