It was stupid not to inform the police and city hall ahead of time. But Boston's reaction was just as dumb.

What I think is most stupid about this all, is that if a bomb of substantial power could be built into a form as small as the FU Light-Bright, then surely it could be put in any form, right?

What if it were built to look like a brick? A table?

My point, is that if a terrorist really wanted a very time-delayed bomb to go off, they could technically build it in any shape or form, so why freak out when something from 24 or the Sci-Fi channel shows up?

People need to seriously shut up and stop freaking out about these things.

Wow, you sir are a total prick. Maybe you need to go back to grade school and learn some ******* manners and respect. Because of your childish attitude, I won't be paying any attention to anything you have to say from here on out. I'm sure you'll enjoy it as much as I do. You can keep your idiotic remarks to yourself when it pertains to me directly. Maybe one day you'll grow up and learn how to debate things respectfully, rather than throwing out immature insults that only serve to make you feel superior (which you clearly are not). Yep, I called you a prick, and I stand by that statement. I stand by it not only because you have proven yourself to be one, but because I said it in defense. So don't try to throw that back in my face, like I'm sure you would.

And for the record, I did read what you said. And you did indeed imply that these 2 guys will act the way they did for the press inside the courtroom to the judge. And you did indeed imply that they would be found guilty of things based on their attitude. I can comprehend what I read. Can you comprehend what you've said?

We also know every bomb NEEDS to beep. And said beep gets louder and faster as the timer counts down to zero. These devices clearly didn't have that feature.

Funny thing I am not the one doing anything to put "Amerika" down. They are doing that for themselves nicely and the rest of the world just sits back with some popcorn for a good laugh

No? Your constant over-exaggeration and desperation to turn anything that happens in here in a negative light isn't doing anything?

Even ink saw it. I mean hell you have TWICE as many posts in this thread compared anyone else.

Convincing yourself?

See you just did it again.

ummm.... wow. Has no one been to a big city before? I`ve been to NYC, Chicago, Tokyo, Osaka, and quite a few other large cities in my day.... and they all have lots of fun filled blinking lights. EVERYWHERE.

Panic and fear have been so shoved down the American publics throat that everyone is going a bit bonkers. Partially its the media`s fault, partially its the governments fault, and partially its the publics fault for being uninformed.

To all those people who are actually fearful of being killed by terrorists, I respect that. But I also think you`re being very reactionary. Do you feel fearful when you drive? Many thousands of people are killed every year in car accidents, and think of how many have been killed in the past 10 years. Now even if we add up all those killed overseas by terrorists its no where near as many as are killed by cars. How about hand gun deaths? Cancer? Lightning strikes? Someone people in our government have been trying to talk about a `culture of life,` but in many ways we`ve created a culture of fear. Yes, people die. It happens every day. Terrorism happens (You should ask a Tokyo resident about the nerve gas attacks, and if he`s afraid of going on the subways). Its always happened, and we in the US have been quite good at making our own terrorists and religous wackos over the years (KKK, abortion clinic bombings, seperitists).

The point I`m getting at is that our worst fear has become fear, and its an enemy we can never defeate. We need to move on with our lives and worry about the things we can change and the people that matter and need help. If we keep doing what we`ve been doing we will become our own worst enemy and end up turning on ourselves.

I found a suspicious object the other day. It was a green box with camo covering, and a red blinky light, and it was sat at a crossroads, on the pavement.

I ignored it. I think it's actually part of the traffic infrastructure or something. But oh how much more bomb-like was it than that stupid sign?

What the nerd community most often fail to realize is that all features aren't equal. A well implemented and well integrated feature in a convenient interface is worth way more than the same feature implemented crappy, or accessed through a annoying interface.

Again, this took place in 10 cities. 9 of those 10 cities had no issues.

You are exaggerating.
and we in the US have been quite good at making our own terrorists and religous wackos over the years (KKK, abortion clinic bombings, seperitists).
We didn't "make those" they made themselves. And while they ARE HORRIBLE groups doing HORRIBLE things it's not comparable to the worldwide threat of islamic terrorism.

Relevant to this thread. It's costing Turner $2mil and the head hancho of Cartoon Network stepped down because of this.
