Hi there.
I'm planning on buying a 5g ipod nano for my father who wants to use it as a pedometer along with the other nike+ features.
The apple website though doesn't state clearly if the nano needs the receiver alongside the sensor.
It says that the nike sport kit (which has both) is required but on the pictures it has everything (nike shoes, sensor, ipod nano) except the receiver.
Do you guys know what exactly is needed?

According to the Nike Plus iPod User Guide, the Nano (it reads all models) does need the receiver.

Nike + iPod: Differences between Pedometer and Nike + iPod Sport Kit

Without Nike+ it only functions as a Pedometer, with Nike+ Sport Kit it has the full Nike+ capability.
