The link goes to our news page. It went down sometime in/around the weekend, due to a database server issue. I haven't been nagging the staff about it yet because of the much larger forum DB meltdown. It will be back online presently.
As for what Team MacNN does, it depends somewhat on your point of view. We donate CPU time to various worthwhile projects, mostly related to scientific research. So we are either helping save the world on a daily basis, or we are doing a great job of wasting electricity. Either way, it's fun.
