I am getting one of these from a friend for $250US. My old CRT 17" Studio Display is dying and I couldn't pass this up. Do any of you know much about these monitors? Any good or bad reviews? All I know is what he has told me and what I have read on Amazon.com. Seems to be pretty good, especially for the money.

Viewing angle isn't that great and neither is the contrast ratio.
30ms isn't good unless all you do is surf the internet and type in word.
I guessing it doesn't have DVI.

I don't know, 250 bucks for a 18inch LCD is a pretty good deal, even if the LCD isn't that good.

30ms pixel response will ghost a lot in DVD movies and games with fast motion like first-person shooters.
VGA only; no DVI. But, on the other hand, at only 1280x1024 (typical for 18-inchers), the lack of DVI wont be such a big deal.

Still, like TheMosco said, $250 is a very good price for any LCD display, let alone an 18". If you are not a hard-core gamer (which you are most likely not if you're even considering a budget LCD) or video editor, you'll probably be happy.
