What do you expect from the upcoming LTE MacBook coming up shortly?

With the looong tradition of offering 2G/3G/4G/LTE products in the iDevice line, no one can claim a technical hurdle to include this option, at least as BTO since last decade. My hackintosh netbook has a 3G slot, with working drivers.
Is it that Jobs was trying to get a fair deal like the iPad original 3G offering, but they wouldn't budge? Is it that they saw 3G unworthy of the MacOS experience? Are they waiting for LTE to be more commonplace?
Will the App Store limit your downloads to 50MB, even if LTE becomes your only internet?
Will you be anxious if the LTE option adds 20% to the computer cost, as it goes for iDevices?

2G/3G hasn't been a technical hurdle to offer in a laptop for nearly a decade now.
Apple chooses not to offer it.

I didn't want to bother saying it, so I didn't, but you're pretty sure to be right.

Is it more a battery issue than anything else? Granted, an MBP has a bigger battery than an iPad, but it also has beefier processors and GPUs.

Are they going to triple or quadruple MacBook SKUs as well?
You know, every single model with one version WITH LTE, and one WITHOUT, times two for the two different U.S. standards, plus another version of every single model for the LTE standards used in the the civilized world?
Or are they going to just ignore LTE outside of the US, because our 3G standards actually work?

Does BTO count as extra SKUs?

Kinda yes not really.
Also, all CTOs have the same case. Adding or blocking a SIM slot does not seem like Apple, nor does having to unscrew the bottom panel to install a SIM.

There was a prototype pre-unibody MBP with a 3G slot in the battery bay so they've clearly looked into it but they just don't seem to care. I've never craved it myself and if I did I could get a USB version cheaply. Its probably like TV tuners, cheap enough that PC companies throw them in to beef up the specs but niche enough that most people never actually use them.

I have plenty of more important things to do, if only I could bring myself to do them....
