I'll take the flapjacks. Is it too early for flapjacks?

So does this make bstone a god, similar to Phil Connors' claim in the film? Perhaps even a messiah? Let's get this thread merged with the "Is Christianity good or bad" thread pronto!

These supposed god-like powers didn't prevent the radiator from exploding or the fire alarm going off early this morning. Some powers.

Your name is Baruch?
Sincerest sympathies, from someone who at least only has to tell people how to spell/pronounce his last name all the time.

That makes it sound as if you’re not proud of your heritage.

Then why would I go around with a yarmulkah, tzitzit and a beard? I am very proud of my heritage but also practical enough to know when people cannot pronounce my name.

Not to mention your screen name, if it's not the same thing. In my head I call you "Oily."

Good point. Yes, it's not pronounced ‘oily’, you’re quite right ( ). It’s pronounced [ə'ʃi:n], just like ‘machine’ (just without the m).
(I admit I wouldn’t know whether to pronounce Baruch as ['bɑɹəx]/BAH-rukh, [bə'ɹʊx]/buh-ROOKH, or even [bə'ɹʌx]/buh-RUKH.)

I just realized I mentally pronounce it "Oh I sin" which I suppose is appropriate for the bugger.

Landlord came today and fixed it. The valve on the radiator broke and that's why the water was leaking out. He replaced it and said to turn the valve on in 2 days once the stuff cures.

I’ve found to be on the utmost safest, always give it an added 24 hours from given time. So, 3 days in your case. I’ve had packages read, will fully cure in 72 hours. I go and try the pipe, it leaks.

Good idea. The bedroom where the radiator lives is currently empty due to the occupant being out of town. When he comes back he'll likely want the heat on. I hope he doesn't come back for a few more days.
