I'm stumped. Recently I've started losing my global shortcuts. It might be after sleep, but sometimes I'll just try alt-tabbing, apple-spacing or even screenshotting to find that it no longer works. Individual apps work just fine.
Only search I could find with a similar problem was a bloody hackintosh.
This is my Mac Pro production system that is the most solid machine I have ever worked on properly. It has all the latest updates and has never had a problem. Argh.
A restart cures it, but I really don't want to do that every time it happens

That's odd.
Did you check System Preferences - Keyboard & Mouse - Keyboard Shortcuts to see if those get unchecked ? Or maybe changed ?

Does this still occur if you log in as another user?

Yeah. That was my first guess, but they are still checked, and nothing happens if I check and uncheck them either.

I'll give this a go if it happens again.
I've repaired permissions, but other than some diffs on Flash Player plugin and Core Audio components and frameworks, it didn't really pop up anything that could pertain to it.
Only new thing I've installed recently is the light version of PTHPasteboard.

Photoshop used to override all shortcuts.
Now, with certain shortcuts, you need to disable them for the OS in preferences.
Maybe you or someone else did it - on purpose or by accident.
