Apps launching as hidden!?

Recently all of my apps, when launched, open up hidden. For example, if I launch Safari, it will open but will not come to the forefront. I will have to use the application switcher to bring it to the front (it will be at the very end of the app switcher list).
I haven't made any changes to my system that should have done this and wouldn't even know where to make this change if I wanted to. I'm sure there is some simple explanation - does anyone know what that would be?

There is an app that can hide and unhide apps, it's called Dockless. It's a free download. There is also a way to hide/unhide apps by hand.
Did that fix it?

Sounds more like something got screwed up with your system.
Did a restart help ?

Firstly, my apologies as my thread title was misleading. Apps weren't actually launching hidden, just in the background behind all other open apps.
I restarted once yesterday and it didn't solve the issue, though strangely I decided to restart the system again just a minute ago and the problem is now gone. I can't explain it, but problem solved (I hope).
Thanks for the replies.
