Is it safe to insert those small CD Biz cards into slot loading CD-ROM drive such as in the Powerbook and older iMac? Is it the same with smaller-sized CD's?
Thank!

yeah, I just wanted to ask the same question. IMO, no I don't think it's really safe and i'm not going to try it either I think.

Now if we can just find someone with enough balls to try it...
Hey! how about going to a local mega-sized retailer where the service sucks and no one even acknowledges your exsistence and try it there??
I think I might do that.

I've heard of people being able to fish out miniature-sized CD's, but irregular-shaped CD's are dangerous.

NO! They get stuck in there 99% of the time. I wouldn't try it.

"Normal" 2.5" CDs will work with no problems, the business card "shaped" cards will 99.9999999999% of the time not make it in and get jammed!

The non-CD-RW drives will take the smaller CD, because of the roller transport similar to the iMac's slot-loading drives. Not so for the new CD-RW (late 2001) drives. Because it does not "grab" the 5.25" disc until the last 1/4", the small CD discs would not trigger the grab.
Death sentence for your slot-loading drive (ANY SLOT-LOADING DRIVE) if you insert any non-round CDs.

When I had an iMac with slot loading dvd i try one once.
Don't try it! if you do, you need a paper clip to push it back in so you can try to eject it one more time and hope that it comes out long ways so you get it out with your finger nails. if it doesn't repeat the first step until it does.

Damn! Thanks for the alerts. I was about to send out a bunch of CD-Biz Cards for a promo. I think I 'll stick to normal CD-R's.
I thank you and my TiBook thanks you too.

A genius client of ours put a biz-card CD in his slot-loading iMac. When it got stuck (which was just stuck but nothing else) he got the bright idea to try to coax it out by shoving a normal CD in after it. He ended up mangling the rollers, so we had to buy him a new drive...
