Anyone running Astropulse on Seti? Anyone using the optimized application from Cruncher 3R?

I don't think anyone has released a optimized app for AP yet, I have both of my machines set up to run the AP units though.
The iMac is the only one to get any yet.

I got mixed up as usual. The optimized app I got was Astronomy for Milkyway, not AP for Seti!
I did get an AP application over at SETI "astropulse_4.35_i686-apple-darwin", but it is just a compile for Mac OS of the standard application.
Do you have a special " app_info.xml" file to get the AP units? I have already forgotten what is required to get the AP units. Are they expected to give "good" credit?

Here is what I have in my app_info.xml file.
Right now the problem at SETI is the fact that it is sending AP files to everybody even if it is not set up to run them yet,
JD Whale got about 719 credits for 34 hours of work.
Code:
<app_info>
<app>
<name>setiathome_enhanced</name>
</app>
<file_info>
<name>seti_enhanced-i386-v8-core2-nographics</name>
<executable/>
</file_info>
<app_version>
<app_name>setiathome_enhanced</app_name>
<version_num>528</version_num>
<file_ref>
<file_name>seti_enhanced-i386-v8-core2-nographics</file_name>
<main_program/>
</file_ref>
</app_version>
<app>
<name>astropulse</name>
</app>
<file_info>
<name>astropulse_4.35_i686-apple-darwin</name>
<executable/>
</file_info>
<app_version>
<app_name>astropulse</app_name>
<version_num>435</version_num>
<file_ref>
<file_name>astropulse_4.35_i686-apple-darwin</file_name>
<main_program/>
</file_ref>
</app_version>
</app_info>

I don't think that I have received any AP files yet. I have the same app_info.xml file.

The AP units are trickling out at the moment, my iMac has 2 of them and the Dell has gotten one.
18 hours in and only 22% complete.

Finally! Just got one. Boinc estimates 46 hours. Hope my wingman comes through. Could be a long time to get credit claimed otherwise. Wonder when A. Kan will produce an optimized app for this Behemoth?

I would say expect about triple that estimation as that seems to be about the norm.

That would be the name of one right there.
They are all proceeded by the "ap".

Wish I had one, would like to see how long this machine would take.

It took 84 hours on my C2D iMac(T7200 2.0) and 45 hours on the C2D Dell(E6550 2.33). I set my preferences to not do any more.

Yikes, maybe I don't want one after all.
But as there aren't any around I guess i'll have to wait and see.
So i'd be looking at around 70 hours per unit. Ouchies!

All Ap units have failed so far. Just wasted another 6 hours of CPU time for it to compute error. I think Seti needs to shove Ap up it's backside at the minute.
Yet again the guys are trying to do to much at once.

What machine were you running it on? I had one and it was okay on my Intel iMac.
If you go to your preferences at Seti@home, you can select which applications, either Seti enhanced or AP or both, that you want to run.

Billy, it's a Early 08 Mac Pro, 2.8GHz, 8 core with 10GB, 320HDD etc.
I'll just stick with Enhanced for now, hopefully when things become a bit more stable i'll give AP another go.
