This is sorta like "freedom of speech, good or bad?"

Yes, good. Clearly so. Why are you asking?

In some instances it cuts both ways, but overall it's good.

Hi, sorry for the delay

I am for it like you'll do

I agree with Shaddim it cuts both ways.... I mean years from now there will be information from the AIF about our "heros" ... JFK. Reagan, Bush 1 and 2, Obama etc... and they may be negative.

I say more info the better no matter what

Like any legislation it can be-and has been- abused, but I think the benefits far outweigh any negatives.

Did you have a more specific question in mind?

Government transparency is more important now then ever. I'm actually in favor of stronger rules for "government secrets" and an easier process for declassifying documents.

Huge goods, and huge negatives.

I'm actually in favour of not making many decision-making processes more transparent. I say this because I believe having more access to information usually results in more paralysis by the eventual decision-maker. With more people having knowledge, there are more opinions, more analyses, and especially more influences brought to bear......i.e. the increased presence of lobby groups.
