Hi,
I have a question regarding browsers and different rendering of colors, specifically in photos, as I am an amateur photographer.
After using Firefox exclusively for quite a while, I started up Safari tonight and discovered something odd; webkit browsers don't display nearly the colors that other browsers do.
Here is a screenshot of a photo as it displayed in Firefox (screenshots from Camino, iCab, and Opera look exactly the same):
Here is a screenshot of the same photo from the same website as it displayed in Safari (screenshots from OmniWeb and Shiira - also webkit browsers - look exactly the same):
I assume you should be able to see that the top image is more vibrant/saturated than the bottom image. This obviously concerns me, as I assume people who view my photos are seeing the same image, regardless of the browser they're using.
For the record, these screenshots were taken from my MacBook, which has the color prefs set on Adobe RGB (1998).
Any ideas what the issue is here?
Thanks in advance.
