My 2006 intel based iMac will not turn on at all. There is no light or noise. I've checked the power source and have the computer plugged into the wall outlet and still nothing. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you unplugged your iMac for about ten minutes?
Maybe this helps.
I've had one issue after a sudden power-out (I got apc power-out protection after that), and my iMac didn't turn on right away. I unplugged it for ten minutes, and then it powered up.

If after all that, you still have the same problem... it's either your charger or the Mac mini logic board.

The OP is talking about an iMac. There is no charger or external power supply.
It's quite possible your internal power supply has died. Maybe another case of bad capacitors...? You should probably have an AASP look at it. Do you have AC? Even if not, if it's just the power supply, a replacement plus labor might not be that expensive.
