It's raining. That's nice, because it's been really, really dry here for the last 2 months.

Happy birthday dav!

One of my friends (Ex roomate) just called. He is in NC now, and just got a decent job!

He was afraid he'd have to file bankruptcy. Now everything is cool.

The best part of being me is waking up with my wife each day. She's adorable.

Not only have we escaped anything near what we had last year in terms of snow, but because of the unseasonably warm temps I just read that our gas heating bills may drop as much as 14% quite soon. Double bonus!

I slept under the stars tonight. Mosquitos didn't bother me that much even. Sweet.

aww, thanks guys! you're all tops too.

and hope all the birthday folks had a great weekend!

we went skiing at Attitash / Bear Peak yesterday... and though the conditions weren't the best, it was lots of fun, my new ski boots are breaking in well, totally worth the trip. Kid had a lesson too. Now he can go straight. Down the hill. Fast. His method of stopping? Throwing himself at the ground.

Today I'm paying the price, but it was worth it. We did a survey, and won another free ticket there. Which was nice.

it was my birthday Friday, and thanks it was wonderful!

Thanks for the "nice thread" people get so cranky on the internet sometimes, probably stemming from the fact that you can't actually hear anyone's tone, and just take things the wrong way. It's great to hear all the nice things. Here's mine, it's Friday, it's 5, I'm going home!!

The wife and I went up to "the cities" to meet with one of her colleagues and his SO. Had a wonderful lunch and I met two great people. Also reaffirmed my love for Indian Cuisine....hense the other thread.

Boots, I also love Indian Cuisine. I don't really know the names of all the dishes, though. I just go to the all you can eat lunch buffets and take a bit of everything and when I go back for seconds I zero in on my favorites. The hot flat bread, basmati rice, tandoori chicken, some kind of potato and peas dish, a lentil dish, a cabbage dish and rice pudding for dessert and a mango shake. Boy! It is heavenly!

Indian restaurants.

He used to live there, so he has lots of old friends to help him out. Just like if he was ever to come back in this area, he'd be welcome at my place.

But thanks for the offer!

I bought Blazing Saddles (30 yr anniversary edition) at Target for $7.50 last night.

Sweet.

And the bean scene keeps getting funnier every time I see it. 'Cause farts are funny, no matter who you are.

I finally settled on a design for my own company's site. That's a huge relief, as I've been going back and forth on some different ideas for some time now.

Now it's time turn a comp into actual code. My favorite part, but I'm weird like that.

[edit] note to self - must rent Blazing Saddles soon. I haven't seen that in years.

I was certain they had been discontinued. I had even written the company a wacko "How could you do this to me?!" email, including the obligatory "This aggression will not stand!" But I had failed to see that they still carried them, blinded by my rage and driven mad for lack of the chips.

Today, after months of not finding them, my wife stumbled onto my favorite snack chips of all time. She bought (3) 1.3lb bags of RW Garcia Salsa Fresca tortilla chips. (The third bag in the pic below...)

DO NOT TRY THESE. You will become addicted and then driven insane when the supply lines dry up.
