I see iTunes 7 still checks the CDDB when I insert a CD into the computer, even though I have 'Automatically retrieve CD track names from internet' unchecked. This sucks, since I'm behind a firewall at work, and when it fails, the CD fails to come up in iTunes so I can manually enter the information.

Well, just a side note, though I don't have an answer to your question: if your computer is a laptop, iTunes 7 can now get the CDDB info after the import. So if you can't get the data at work, you can still import the MP3s, and then when you take the computer home, you can select those tracks and pick "get track names" and it'll grab them then.

I appreciate the tip. Unfortunately, that just means its easier to rip at home and bring it in.
