Haha... Sarah Palin got caught cheating with hand written notes, or rather notes written on hand.

First she can't even remember Joe Biden's last name.

Then she couldn't answer a simple question from Katie Couric asking what magazines and newspaper she reads.

Now she can't remember the 3 things Republicans need to do if conservatives take over congress.

Stefan Sirucek: EXCLUSIVE (Update): Palin's Tea Party Crib Notes

I mean come one. That was a softball question you know beforehand. At least take to time to memorize the answers instead of written them on your hand, or rather written beforehand.
Bush Tax Cuts == Job Killer
June 2001: 132,047,000 employed
June 2003: 129,839,000 employed
2.21 million jobs were LOST after 2 years of Bush Tax Cuts.

It's a bad choice in terms of PR, but as mentioned, "crib notes" are the norm for politicians. At least she didn't have a teleprompter.

He had to have TWO teleprompters set up to talk to 6th graders, and you don't see what's r-tarded about that?

besson, this attempt of yours at bashing Palin fails. There are a lot of things she can be knocked for, but briefly referring to notes in a potentially stressful situation for her isn't one of them.

In the name of fairness…it was my understanding that he didn't actually use the teleprompter to talk to the kids. He used it to make his statement to the press.

Not much better IMO. I mean, it was a FIVE minute statement. Wouldn't want him to stray one iota from his prepared talking points I guess.

What attempt of mine are you talking about? I think you have me mistaken for somebody else. Apology accepted!

Everything that every politician does, especially in today's political climate, is highly scripted and highly calculated - nauseatingly so. I can't say I blame the politicians when various people and the media will go apeshit over any tiny gaffe, but at the same time this is sad.

The teleprompters could have been used for a speech afterwards, beforewards, I don't know, I don't care. The "Obama can only sound coherent with a teleprompter" notion has been debunked over and over again, the latest debate with Republicans being a good example of this. Beyond this tired sentiment, every politician has been using a teleprompter forever, whoop dee doo.

Anybody that *really* wants to jump all over Obama's balls because of teleprompters should really pick their battles. There are far better arguments against him to be made.

That would be retarded.

But he didn't have 2 teleprompter set up to talk to 6th graders.

Reagan on the other-hand did have teleprompters when talking to 6th graders. Or were they 5th graders? He said "negro" to a black girl.

Man, I can't wait for Tina Fey to play Sarah Palin again on SNL.

One hand written with the words "My name is Sarah Palin".

The other are the names of her kids.

Who cares? The best way to stop this sort of pointless scorekeeping about completely and utterly trivial matters is to restrain yourself (general "your") from entertaining this sort of nonsense. If these people *really* want to think that Obama needed a teleprompter to speak to these kids, let them.

Sarah Palin is not that dumb, and you know it.

She's quite uncomfortable being pinned down in expressing concrete ideas, and her rhetoric is often disingenuous and seemingly not terribly well thought out in terms of appealing to intelligent people, but she is not this dumb, nor was George W. Bush, even.

Haha...

She's not that dumb, but that would make great satire.

That tells you how f-ing retarded this whole situtation is. Writing notes on the palm of your hand.

That's what grade schoolers do, not grown up politicians.

What's next?

Passing a note asking for permission to go pee pee?

Oh wait. That's already done by Pres. Bush.

Day 142 of "Let's find SOMETHING to criticize Sarah Palin for, because she scares US!"

HAHAH.

Is this REALLY the route her detractors want to take? Is this the best you can come up with?

Do you guys not realize that regular people look at this type of argument, scratch their heads and them wonder if the rest of the complaints about Palin are just partisan attacks? Did people not learn anything during the Clinton administration when complaints about him personally made him more popular, not less?

If Obama can use a teleprompter for just about EVERYTHING, then I really can't see how Palin can't be allowed five words on her hand to keep herself on topic. If all Barrack needed was a notecard, that would save a lot of logistical planning and effort that lugging around that big electronic set of crib notes.

Really, if you guys want to compare about five words written down to having almost all of your remarks totally scripted and flashed in front of you - go ahead. You'll only serve to help Palin, not hurt her. Mark my words.....

Okay, I'm doing something that people say doesn't happen very often around here: I'm apologizing to both besson andhyteckit, and I hope I never have to do it again. I didn't see the photo of her hand with the crib notes. That is stupid.

My mistake.

I really fervently hope that the Tea Party Movement finds its legs independent of the GOP, becomes a third party and nominates Palin as its presidential candidate in 2012.

I will vote for her in their primaries.

When has she criticized people who use notes?

I know that she's mentioned Obama and his reliance on teleprompters, but having your words flashed in front of your eyes so you say exactly what is scripted is a lot different than having four or five key words available to make sure you cover everything you want to. One is a reminder - the other is clearly a crutch.

I'm not mocking Sarah Palin for using notes.

I'm mocking Sarah Palin for putting herself in ridiculous situations like having to read notes written on her hand during an interview.

I mean, who the hell reads notes written on their hands during an interview? No one but Sarah Palin.

Any politician would does this would have been made fun out. It just so happens Sarah Palin is a big celebrity known for making fun of others using teleprompters during speeches.

The media is going to eat it up because it's such a ridiculous situation.

This was a genius move by Palin.

Yesterday, her speech was in front of a few hundred people. Today, millions of people know what she chose to speak about.

If those who oppose Palin over political differences had half as much going for them intellectually as Palin's got going for her, they'd let up until she announces her bid and begins campaigning for the Presidency. They'll likely weed her out early and this will give Republicans time to find someone more competent.

I watched that Tea Party speech live. When I saw she was answering questions she'd already heard, it took away my last bit of respect for her. She was paid thousands to appear to fawning sycophants, but she won't permit live questions? Even W took questions from an audience.

I agree. I'm not saying that one side is above it. I'm saying that the current administration and congressional majority REALLY have bigger fish to fry. They've got record unemployment, out of control spending and are having a lot of trouble fighting the war on terror, and they think it's a smart idea to focus on personal attacks and mockery against a political opponent.

I can't remember the last time this kind of thing was done at an official press briefing. Not even the Clinton administration who had goons whose responsibility it was to go out and smear the opposition. Begala and Carville at least waited until the Sunday morning political shows to engage in that sort of theater, and always sought to separate themselves from the administration by saying that they weren't any kind of official spokesmen for the President.

It's no wonder the press aren't really laughing anymore. The joke's on the Obama administration, and it's not really a very funny one.

I guess it was okay when Dianne Feinstein did it in 1990.

For the record, it was. Just as it was okay for Sarah Palin.
