I’ve made this ideogrammatic vector logo for my website which I would like to have rendered exclusively through HTML5’s canvas tag, no reference image, pure code. OmniGraffle doesn’t seem to have an ‘export to JavaScript vectorisation instructions’ option, so I was wondering if any of you guys had some experience with this kind of stuff. Basically, the logo consists of two fried eggs superimposed on a cup of tea, superimposed on an hourglass, and encircled by a pea.

I'm currently reading these documents on the subject matter:

http://developer.apple.com/safari/li...cts/index.html
http://developer.apple.com/safari/li...01236-BAJGJJAH
http://developer.apple.com/safari/li...eringContext2D

Thank you.

Should be possible if not all that fun. IIRC, the Canvas API is essentially a slightly different syntax for PostScript. You should be able to save your image in PostScript format and convert all the PostScript instructions to JavaScript calls. Probably a little more work than that, but it sounds more troublesome than impossible.

Might also want to look at Raphaël—JavaScript Library i've used this library indirectly through the graphing project based on it.

I realise this is quite off-topic, but I just have to ask: what on earth could that possibly be a logo for?!

Thanks, Chuck. Useful info, I shall definitely look into that further.

And, Warren, really great link, very much obliged, indeed.

You’re a credit to the community, both of you.

As I said, it’s ideogrammatic. You can extrapolate the uri from the logo. Shouldn’t be a problem for you, Oisín.

Think SMS.

Five letters. It would have been four, but for domain squatters.

(The site isn’t live yet, anyway, I’ll upload it when ready.)
