Continuous play/loop in DVD player?

Is it possible to have the DVD player application continuously loop a movie? I'm using my MacBook Pro at a funeral to play a DVD created by the funeral home. It's a short 4 minute slideshow "movie" (pictures of the deceased). The family would like the movie to "loop" for about 45 minutes.
Is there any way to make this happen? Currently, as soon as the movie ends, it automatically goes back to the menu page and I have to manually start it again. Please tell me there is a solution to this. Thanks!

I don't believe Apple's DVD player supports that function.
Do you have access to the DVD? I'd recommend ripping and converting it to a file that's playable in QuickTime. QT supports the loop function you want.

VLC has a loop (repeat or repeat 1) option. Should work with DVD.

Yep, this would have been my recommendation as well.

If you have access to the original file, and need to run it off a DVD player (QT will require a computer....)... burn it again, e.g. with Toast Titanium, and uncheck the 'Create DVD menu' box in advanced properties.
This will create an 'instant play dvd' which will automatically restart at the beginning once it reaches the end, i.e. it loops.
If you have a dvd player, and a 'no menu' dvd, you can set the dvd player to loop (usually called 'Repeat' in its own menu / via the remote handset.
this can be fiddly. I'd advise practising beforehand, especially if the event is a funeral!
good luck.
one of these ideas / hardware combos is sure to work.
the looped QT file is still the best option as the 'dvd' will never scratch or overheat...

I would rip the movie to your macbook pro , less chance of something going wrong.
This app will allow you to rip the disk into your computer - the free trial will allow up to 10 rips so perfect for you.

Handbrake will rip too. It's free and excellent. Make sure you read their notes about commercial DVDs if you're ripping one of those.
