Just to bring this thread around to the original topic briefly: okay, so we know Tom has had his marbles shaken loose. But WTF with Spielberg, as in that interview?
Spielberg: I often get asked similar questions about my Shoa Foundation. I get asked why I am trying to disseminate my deep belief in creating more tolerance through my foundation's teaching the history of the Holocaust in public schools. I believe that you shouldn't be allowed to attend college without having taken a course in tolerance education. That should be an important part of the social studies curriculum.

SPIEGEL: Mr. Spielberg, are you comparing the educational work of the Shoa Foundation with what Scientology does?

Spielberg: No, I'm not. Tom told you what he believes in, and after that I told you what I believe in. This is not a comparison between the Church of Scientology, the Shoa Foundation and the Holocaust. I was only showing you that some of us in Hollywood have set out to do more than just be actors or directors. Some of us have very personal missions. In Tom's case, it's his church, and in my case, it's the Shoa Foundation, where I'm trying to help other people learn about the mortal dangers of pure hatred.
I mean, he wants to be friendly to Tom. Fine. But did he really need to say that Tom's placing Scientology tents in the workplace is equivalent to Spielberg's work with the Shoah Foundation? Is he just backing up his star here, or does he really think proselytizing Scientology is a groovy thing on the work site?

Because of the stuff you don't read about.
Go read the many pages about the cult that have been posted in this thread.
Just a comparison, not flame bait. I see all religions that call me down, as bigoted. Sorry, just the way I feel.
And you calling religion down makes you..?

Calling something out for what it is isnt being bigoted. I'm not saying religions, or their patrons should be killed for their beliefs; or anybody else for that matter.

So if calling something bigoted, when in this case they clearly are - makes me a bigot, so be it.

I agree, But what you may see , may be not what others see.

Just as long as we clear it up.

BTW bigotness just means one is intolerant.

Intolerance isn't accepting an ideal or cause you don't believe in.

Intolerance is how you treat those who believe differently than you.

So one can not believe homosexual sex is normal, and still be tolerant, and not be a bigot.

I agree. The patrons of religions may not be bigoted themselves, just some of the foundation/ideals of certain religions are.

Just saw "War of the Worlds" and it was amazing....

Quite terrifying....would not take a kid under 10 to see it....damn...I almost crapped my shorts and I am 35!

Incredible effects....everything looked very real. Killer sound....the alien craft make some weird noises.

The aliens looked a little like the ones in Independence Day.
