I agree with this sentiment. The original was clean, slick, and very ****ing cool. The newer mockups and requests seem make it seem in danger of becoming too cluttered, and too much of a crappy "theme" than a usable theme.

This is what I have so far (latest mockup):
Can't come up with decent scrollbars...maybe I'll give them a plastic look.

The scrollbars were perfect in your first mockup. This latest mockup lacks colour, well, the nice shades in the first mockup, and the title bar isn't as nice (especially by the x-+ widgets).
I'm sure others will like it, but I must say that it's really gone downhill to this cat. You really had something different and interesting happening with the first mockup. Sorry.

Perhaps the silver should be darkened just a tiny bit? Something between this mockup and the last.
Also, the minimize/grow widgets look a bit cheapened from the last mockup unfortunately... not sure if this was to be more accurate to CoPliot, but the widgets looked a lot better in the old.

i agree with both of the above. the best mockup to date (and most likely to make people say, "hey, this reminds me of co-pilot" since it was inspired by that) would be:
with this apple menu (of course):
but thats just my opinion. the widgets bar looks really fake in the last mockup. too flat.

Yeah, the mockups keep getting worse and worse ... sorry, but that's how I feel. The titlebar has really degraded.

so now that there have been more screenshots of the itunes theme made available, I gotta say it's nothing like the original mockup here ... The finder buttons are nowhere near as cool, and the overall feel is quite different. I still think you should go back and make that first theme work Your elements jump out at you from the screen - whcih is awesome. The itunes theme is just flat and grey ... not the same.

SS does not let us use window borders, or change around the location of the titlebar/x-+ widgets, so, until SS supports these features (if ever), then I say that Dace has done the best job he can in "porting" this theme.

Whatever the case is, I sincerely hope that there is a theme made from the original mockup you made, themarvelous3. That is still the best theme I've ever seen.

This theme is going to ROCK...
I too was a BIG fan of the original K-Scheme theme. Dace--I like your 'interpretation' of this version.
Well done so far with the progress of this theme so far.
If released, Dace, would you consider making both a Jag and a Panther copy?
Dace--one last thing... I'm personally glad to see you back into themeing again.
Lyric.

Co-Pilot X is dead at the moment...I tried, but I'm way to busy, Plus I got discouraged by the fact no one could be pleased.
Ask Max, hes got plenty of free time

You just assume that I have plenty of free time? Like Frisbee said, I'm updating all my current themes for Panther. And I do have a real life too you know... I think it's a shame that you have to throw out mockups everywhere you go and expect other people to pick them up for you. You keep posting these mockups of xbox, ps2, strawberry milk and copilot themes. Unless you want to actually get something done, stop posting mockups, they only get people excited about a theme that does not exist. And when you posted the strawberry milk mockup, all that did was get people naging at me to create it. Either make a theme for once, or stop posting mockups!

I loved co-pilot...
Now, I would take a stab at designing this for OSX... IF... I could find a full set of templates to work from (so I know all the components I would need to redesign) and someone to take my images and throw them into the guikit... or whatever is needed...
I don't have the time to sit and learn ThemePark, and I don't really feel like fumbling through it at the moment either. I'd rather design the theme, and let someone else do the rest.
I've got the couple of images people posted of the kaleidoscope theme, anyone have any other screenshots? I havent seen the theme in so long, would be nice to work from some actual screenies so I can see more of the interface again.
I'd really like to see this theme as well.
If no one can help, no problem, it's just a thought.
you can email me at [email protected]

Max Rudberg's theme template that comes with ThemePark provides a template for a lot of pesky resources, including action to make each resource ready to just paste into ThemePark. It also includes an action for progress bar animation. That should take care of a lot of things. Other than that though, there's no way around learning ThemePark and the various elements that aren't in the template. I only used the template for the progress bar animation for my theme, otherwise I had separate Photoshop files for each resource.

Well, I'll work on an idea for it... but like I said, I can plug away in my spare time at the design, but I don't have the time to make things go through ThemePark, then figure out why things aren't working, test everything, then retry.
Thus asking if anyone could take the design I create and turn it into a functional theme.
Wish I had more time to devote to theme creation, but between work, family, more work, and a lot of family... it's kind of tough.

if you get the design done, I could put it into TP. We'll need all the proper permissions fist, ofcourse.
