I guess I need to jump onto Wikipedia to determine where in the storyline the movie applies. I should probably watch the movie again.

Yeah, considering it's the best thing associated with Transformers.

Optimus Prime wasn't the most likable IMO (said the Soundwave and Megatron fan). I was happy they killed him off. Sadly, Rodimus Prime was infinitely more annoying; he was even worse than when he was Hot Rod.

I don't think the TF tv show has aged very well.

I also can't stand listening to "George Lucas / Michael Bay raped my childhood" whining. Sometimes, remakes are far better than the original. (Battlestar Galactica?) At least the new TF movies aren't clogged with second-rate heavy metal, Wheelie, Stan Bush, and transforming Galactus-meets-Death Star.

Stan Bush and Unicron would've made the new movie better.

I just got through watching all 90+ episodes. It's kind of weird that they bring back Optimus Prime just a handful of episodes before the last one. It's also disappointing that the story doesn't actually resolve in an unambiguous way.
