I can receive mail using the Mac Mail Application, but I cannot send. It keeps telling me "the SMTP server has rejected the password for user" ...

My Entourage works fine. I can send and receive just fine there, but with the Mac Mail App -- NO GO.
It worked fine before I installed Jaguar.
I use ATT as my provider. I also have a .Mac account.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have a similar problem, my ISP is RR. I can, however, send and receive using my .mac account just fine.

there's a thread in OSX software about this.

My solution was simply to not enter a user/password for my SMTP server and everything was back to normal. Seems to be something about how Mail works with the keychain to get the SMTP information.
