Amazon totally FUBARed the shipment of the gift I purchased for my recipient. It went from Kentucky to Missouri before coming to Indiana, which makes no sense since Amazon shipments usually come straight from KY to IN within 48 hours of ordering. Oh well.

Hmmm . . . could these two posts be related?

FWIW, this thing is fantastic - it plugs into my cigarette lighter socket and holds my iPod touch. It charges the Touch, transmits audio via FM (not the best quality, but hey, it works), and allows me to control the iPod via remote. Pretty incredible for only $18 or so.

I'm getting my gift shipped out today.

I'm really sorry for the delay - blame Amazon and the one time they actually took a week and a half to ship the damn thing to me.

Amazon shipping experiences can be so bizarre.
I ordered some books, chose super saver (which wound up being free), and I received them the next day!
But if I pay for 3 day shipping, I end up waiting a week or more.

Which is pretty much why I go supersaver everytime. If I really need something fast, I'll probably go to the store.

I ordered something (unrelated to Secret Santa) with Super Saver shipping recently. It shipped out of Amazon's Capitol Heights, MD facility (less than 10 miles away), with an announced "shipped" date of December 12, but it wasn't actually picked up by USPS until the 18th!

I'm going to be hitting the road early tonight. A nice 3 hour drive over the river and through the woods to commence operation Christmas mayhem with the family.

So I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas!!

I hope you have safe journeys and good times.
And be nice, or Santa will break into your house and take that stuff back.

Ho Ho Ho!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Same here. I think it will be exciting to have a truly "secret" gift for Christmas. I'm looking forward to opening my present with a level of excitement I haven't felt in a long time.

On a side note, I would like to keep the secret in the MacNN Secret Santa program. So, if you (the members of the Secret Santa group) were assigned my name, please don't tell me.

Merry Christmas to all of you!

OK, I understand.

I was one of the folks here in the North-East who lost power (8 days!), so I'm behind on my own holiday gifts.

I had two books and a couple DVDs as choices on my MacNN Secret Santa Wish List™. I got the book below as my gift. Many thanks to whomever was my Secret Santa!!!

Amazon.com: The Best of Sail Trim: Charles Mason: Books

This was fun. I say we do this again next year.

Sorry for the zombi-thread post, but I just realized I got my Secret Santa gift, and I've had it for a while.

Some one else gave me one from the exact same company and I didn't realize that I had it until I looked in my wallet today and realized I had two.

It wasn't until I thought abut how I could have ended up with the 2nd one that it dawned on me how I got it. Someone else had opened it when it arrived. They gave me the contents (ie the gift), so I thought it was the first one.

I'm very grateful for the thoughtful and yet practical gift. I'll keep it in my wallet for an emergency situation...or when I go on a long road trip.

Thanx again -iM@k
