Noticed this yesterday while watching and found specifics online, have been looking for a video and now have found one.
'Right after the woman from CNN asks her question, Bush says about 10 words, stops, looks down like he's listening to something, mumbles something like "hold on" or "OK", and continues talking. This lasted about 2-3, maybe 4 seconds.'
You can view the video here:

To me, I am not sure, seems like an awfully awkward pause, even for GW.
I do know that typically when you have a listening device you will tend to look down naturally to concentrate on the talking. I know I do anyway.

Or maybe he was looking down at the podium, where he had his notes?

He doesn't seem to be looking at the podium, also I don't see what notes he would have on that specific question, lastly he has to be the fastest speed reader if that is what he is doing.
That is definitely a possibility though.
EDIT: upon further inspection he would be looking off the podium so I don't think this is a possibility. Brain fart? maybe.

He probably does have some sort of listening device in case something happens that he absolutely needs to know right now. He is the president of the United States after all...

Cause we all know how quickly he responded the morning of 9/11.

All the more reason that they would have taken steps to ensure that sort of thing doesn't happen again...

What difference does it make, anyway? I don't understand why it matters whether or not he's wearing a wire.

I would like to believe this but I really don't see it. This kind of thing just gives people who like to bash the left a bigger stick.

Nobody needs to bash the left, they embarass themselves on a daily basis. All one has to do is quote them. Consider that a big enough stick.

To the anti-Bush zealots, this is a big deal.
Just goes to show how little in tune they are with reality.

If Bush was wired, then I'd like to make the claim that Howard Dean had a 500 volt electrical charge up his anus, which would explain his violent screaming, something which passes for normal "leftist" behavior.

I wouldn't go that far, Zimph. While it certainly does seem to be a big deal to anti-Bush zealots for some reason, I've never been able to figure out precisely what that reason is. Even most of the people I know who dislike Bush -which is not to say that I'm a fan of him, either- don't see what the "OMG dubya wuz wired!!!1!" people are complaining about.
This is an honest question: what's the big deal?

I would say it was a knee-jerk reaction to post anything that one can even remotely spin as being something Bush is doing wrong.
It's been happening for years in here Mill. You should be used to it.

Yeah. I mean, I'm vaguely curious just because it would be interesting to know if they're moving away from passing notes, but I don't see how it would be a bad thing at all.
I suppose the implication might be that he's wired so that he can be coached on the fly because he's too stupid/incompetant to be allowed to speak in public on his own. But... I somehow doubt that's the case.

Anyone smell hypocrite...I think I smell hypocrite. Little bit of contradiction in there too, yes.

He's just a moron. You don't need a wire to not know what to say 1/2 the time.
