Hi,
So I Finally got my copy of AvP today. Runs excellent under 9.2.1 on my setup(see my sig). However, it's kinda slow in 10.1. How do I check the framerate in the game? Also, is anyone else having similiar problems? I can't tell if it is slowe or if my mouse just is responding slower X giving the illusion of slow down. Thanks for any info!

Dave

I'm playing AvP in X 10.1 on a Cube and I find the single player performance good.
I've noticed a few bugs but nothing serious. For example, if you launch the game from the dock while your cursor stays over the dock, your cursor will not disappear when the game launches. Seeing your cursor naturally detracts from the game play... Another thing is that the marine can get hung up on broken glass windows. I've gotten "stuck" while trying to maneuver through.
Other than that, the game does slow down when you're fighting six aliens at once.

Do the mouse hack thingy to fix the ****ing awful voodoo Apple performed on the mouse. Well, at least alleviate it a little anyway.
Why is AvP slow on 10.1? Cause OSX is slow as sh!t.
The fact that AvP is older than my OLD computer sorta makes up for that as it requires about a P100 to play something as shoddy as it is.
Thats why it flies on OS9
[/bash session] (yes, I do see the extreme irony in that statement)

What are the specs of your cube? CPU speed, graphics card, RAM? I'm wondering if perhaps there's something messed up about my OS X install and if that could be causing the slowdown since it sounds like everyone else is playing fine under X.
