In a nutshell - I thought the first 5 episodes were utter garbage, but the last 5 episodes were really good.

I've only watched episode 1, but while it wasn't "riveting," it wasn't horrible. It's clear that it's setting up tons of stuff, and I'm OK with that. And I pegged Bill Mumy's cameo as well. The robot angle was sort of surprising.
The thing I didn't really care for was the mix of flash backs without enough backstory outside of the Robinson family. What all was going on worldwide? Why was John so busy in the Marines? Or maybe that ploy actually got my attention enough to get me watching more episodes...
Whatever, the first episode set enough hooks that I'm budgeting time to watch the rest of the series.

I've been burned before by bad Lost in Space adaptations. Also by good sci fi that gets cancelled just as I'm really getting into it.
So thanks for the review!

I half-enjoyed the William Hurt one.
I really loved the Robbie the Robot they started with. The repaired model, not so much.

Started off kinda slow but it ended up strong. I enjoyed it overall. Definitely looking forward to Season 2.
