yeah that was a great game. ****, i still have it and should reinstall.
i remember when Myth 1 came out there was so much hype over the game engine and the exploding body effects. my friend and i would simply play the multiplayer demo for hours on end. just playing king of the kill on that one map. it was great.

not all who wander are lost.

It's supposed to be possible to win it, but the only result I've ever gotten was the same as you got.

But I liked it anyway.

I know you are going to torture me, so let's just get this over with right now. The coordinates of my homeworld, Spathiwa, are 241.6 : 368.7 and the ultra-secret Spathi Cypher, which is known only by me and several billion other Spathi is `Huffi-Muffi-Guffi'.

Ahh.. so awesome.
I tried this today. No workie. Just a bunch of messed up graphics. Too bad.

Unfortunately, Tiger broke the old version. Fortunately, an updated version was released just one day after you tried. Unfortunately, it still doesn't work in pure SDL mode but you can download this unofficial build and enable OpenGL mode. The Cocoa configuration front-end is a bit crashy for me though, but I think this will be fixed in the near future. Don't forget to get the (optional) speech and 3DO music packages for the full effect.

In order to get the good ending, you have to destroy the Sa-Matra in time or otherwise the Kohr-Ah will win the doctrinal conflict against the Kzer-Za and destroy all sentient lifeforms. I think you have about 4-5 years in-game time to accomplish this. Assembling the Ultron and giving it to the Utwig will buy you an additional year.

World of Warcraft for me. It just keeps surprising me with the sheer quality of the landscapes, and I do love a good landscape. Personally I blame too much messing about with Vista as a teenager.

Warcraft 3 is a close second; which I tend to play it fits and starts. I was a bit late getting this one.

Age of Mythology. Again, another beautiful title...the colours, artwork and animation are great. Also, the axis rotation on the scrollwheel is genius.

Caesar III. The last and the greatest. I've taken to running Pharaoh and Zeus under VPC7 and it's...playable..but it'd be more playable on a G5 PM methinks. The move to 3D with Children of the Nile (new studio, same guys) has just lost...something.

Or it would be even more playable on a p3 900.

I know I know.

My friend has borrowed my PC, so it's a case of having to make do unfortunately.

It's back soon, and just as well, Battlefield 2 is out this year.

Counter Strike is a MOD for Half Life... it is not it's own game. And, again, it doesn't run on the Mac.

This thread is about MAC games!

Unreal. The first one - the one that hasn't been ported to OS X!

OS X games: Quake 1 (yeah, I still play it - can't beat the classic!), Halo and Call of Duty are recent favorites, although I haven't been playing much of anything recently.

I'd love to revisit Deus Ex, but I can't boot OS 9 and running it in Classic on a G5 w/Tiger is not fun. Graphical glitches, I'd have to remap F-keys, assigning multiple mouse buttons & wheel, etc. Big net-search didn't yield much help. Glad the Sawtooth is still running strong.

I tried to boot in 9, but I couldn't get OS9 to recognize my 9600XT.

Anyway, running it in classic is working great, though I think it'd be a bit faster in REAL os9. You don't have to remap many of the F12 keys, the only real problem is the flashlight uses F12, and F12 in tiger brings up widgets, which screws things up. So now, I just hit F1 to activate the augmentation screen and manually click it on with a mouse. Sucks, but whatcha gonna do.
