During the TIGER party i joined we came across a stunning eye candy effect when using the widgets. When one clicked a widget, the desktop pic suddenly looked like a water surface with ripples spreading from the window border. Is that a Tiger feature or an add-on for system preferences?

It's a feature only if your video card supports Core Image.

It's been around since Dashboard came out. Standard as long as your video card can support it (also, another thread solely to the ripple already ongoing).

You can hit command-R while viewing a widget to force it to update -- and you'll see another little animation.

This is the most useless "thing" in Tiger.

I can live without the ripple (although I do think its cool) but not having Core Video support on the Mini is pretty dissappointing.

Yes, I realize that all indcators would have predicted that before I bought but I guess i was still hoping the specs would change by the time Tiger went GM.

It's very cool. Saw it on my wife's PowerBook.

While it may be useless, you can bet your ass a n00b shopping for a machine is impressed, and if that sells a couple of machines, I'm all for it.

OMG!! Expose is a freaking life saver. OS X spawns so many windows I couldn't live w/o Expose......well, at least not now that I have it, of course.
