AppleInsider mentions that someone from UBS is predicting a really little MacBook for MWSF07. Do these guys ever guess anything right? I mean, they never claim to have inside sources, but rather piece together inferences based on what they hear from suppliers (including Intel's announcement that they're incorporating NAND flash into future reference platforms).

I don't know. Like I've said before, I'd buy a MacBook mini in a heartbeat, but the market doesn't seem big enough for Apple to diversify their line further. I think they're happy to have simplified down to three sizes. I suppose competing with typical really-small notebooks is a better way to go than to bother doing something UMPC-esque.

Anyone got comments on 1) detective skillz of analysts or 2) plausibility of a really teeny portable Mac?

I'd say the likelihood of a "teeny portable Mac" is about 0.83455% likely for MWSF07. I would tell you where I got that number, but I can't reveal my sources.

I think this analyst is just reading the tea leaves like I did back in February. I'm sure that Apple's been toying with Flash HD technology for some time now, but I doubt anyone other than insiders really knows when the fruits of the company's efforts will see the light of day.
