Good for you. Admitting your problem was the first step.

I finally realized after two years that it has done nothing but waste my time and help me to lose friends. I really was addicted to it, and it's pretty cool not to have one. More time for the 'NN forums!

Congrats, you're one step further away from being a 13-year-old girl.

Facebook is where it's at, even though apps are doing it's best to turn it into myspace

I just deleted mine yesterday. Meanwhile, I never hooked on myspace.

Speaking of myspace, I need to get my siblings out of it; do any of you guys know how to block myspace?

I still have one that I refuse to update.....in fact my name is "I refuse to update myspace"

I got over it a year ago (not that I was into it that much anyways) but I didn't feel the need to delete it just to keep me away from it, meh.

Parental controls
Hosts file
Threats

Take your pick.

1. Parental Controls, good feature in leopard will provide such a feature but in Tiger it doesn't have a blocked sites option, only allowed sites.

2. Hosts files, I've got a weird type of router.

3. Threats, I've tried that approach and it works to a certain point but then I have to be threatening them again which I do not like doing as it becomes annoying after the 1 millionth threat.

Thanks.

1) Allowing sites is a better parental control.

2) Use a hosts file on the machine they use.

3) Follow through.

Facebook was better before they opened it up to everyone (read: thirteen-year-old emo girls and boys). Now it's just a matter of time before it actually becomes MySpace.
Sell or send me your vintage Mac things if you don't want them.

First people were saying "Come on MySpace"
Now they are saying "Come on Facebook"

The way things are going soon they will say "Come on MyFace"

If I wasn't a high class gentleman, I'd laugh heartily at that. And perhaps insert one of those "LOL" smiley things. But since I am, I won't.

Myspace, albeit a hole, did help me re-connect with at least 5 people that I hadn't seen in YEARS and YEARS. While i'm not too active on it, it was an excellent place to find lost friends. That has changed now, since facebook is now for-all...but I gotta give myspace a little credit.

I'm actually with you on that one. I've found 10+ friends from high school on there and have kept in touch with them since. Can't complain about getting reconnected with long lost amigos

Do you want a hug or something? Geeeze. Myspace pages give me headaches. I refuse to even look at them anymore. People who use them are dead to me. DEAD.

I live there too. Anytime someone talks about overcrowding and population problems, I just lean back and sip my piña colada because it was probably a dead person talking anyway.
