I bet Buffet and his team are having a really close look at some big buys today.

Nothing yet.

Avg. crashes take 12-18 months to hit bottom.
It's time to sit back, and hoard cash.

I will keep adding some to my gold and silver positions, but cash is going to be the main thing. Late next year will be the time to start buying.

Nope.

Warren doesn't buy something because it got a few % cheaper overnight.
That's not how he does deals.

I bought some today. I'm not aiming for bottom; I'm aiming for value, and I got value today.

There's more value to be had in the months ahead. Keep some powder dry :-)

You think that this is a full-blown crash? Rise of the Euro is going to hurt us Europeons but FTSE and CAC40 seem to be regaining what was lost yesterday.

Yes, I still got some dry powder handy. Although it is almost meaningless, the DOW is up for some huge gains early in the morning.

I just looked at the 10 year view of the china market index. There's no way looking at that spike, and the one in 2007, that people weren't expecting it to drop.

Yes. It is. I'm not saying it will unfold ASAP, but chances are very high this will happen in the next months.

Read Hussman, he shows all the data how the markets are overvalued by all historic standards.

The Fed can't save this crash, remember how the Fed lowered rates in 2007/2008, in parallel of the markets crashing almost 50%. Now there's even nothing to lower.

We are not only due for a crash based on normal market cycles, the asset and money bubble will make sure it unfolds violently.

"The next few months" has been projected for the last few years, for some analysts it's been 5+. All that time they've been hoarding gold while more forward-thinking investors have been making 10-20% YOY. By conventional metrics, we've not had a "normal" cycle during the last decade, and what that means is that the rules of calculating value in tech have changed. R&D companies are worth much more than they were in the past, as value is presently being factored, not on current earnings, but on how that tech and IP will impact development and physical sales of goods further down the road in other industries.

Is it a speculative market? Absolutely, more so than ever before, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, just remember that when (if) a company like Tesla (for example) does start raking in the money, their shares aren't going to rise sharply, because most of that value is already baked in to the current price. Will we see a large correction? Hell yes. Because some of the speculation has been dead wrong. However, larger corrections are part of the financial landscape now, they're the new cycle. Gone are the days of slow, steady growth, at least in the tech markets, as investors chase after the next big thing, and while many of the old guard see it as unhealthy, it is what it is and I don't see it reverting back any time soon. Like with commodities, if you don't like the swings, don't trade there.
