Power Adapter Plug - PB White and iBook Silver

Don't know if anyone talked about this. Did you ever notice the iBook's power adapter plug is silver in color and the PowerBook's is white?
Did Apple do it in purpose or it is a big mix up? Or I have too much time to notice things like this?

I thought the older adapters came with a silver plug while the new ones come with a white one?

My friend's iBook 900MHz (announced April 2003) has a silver adapter. It is not that old is it? May be he got "lucky".

my mom has an iBook and i think the silver plastic plug looks cheap compared to the white one on my 12" PB
