Nice apartment, V12. Brooklyn Heights is great, I might end up living there in the not-too-distant future. Currently residing in a very expensive, very small (around 8x10'), yet very convenient Manhattan dorm room. Pictured here is one side of it:

No comments on the furniture, since it came with the room. And I'm fully aware that sitting a speaker on top of an empty cardboard box (which, in turn, is sitting on top of the subwoofer) is not the most sonically desirable setup, but when I eagerly ordered those speakers I neglected to fully plan their location. The other side of the room has a bed, a refrigerator, and two slightly smaller speakers to round out the quadraphonic setup.

SVA. The room is tiny and the building is old so stuff doesn't work real well, but I can't complain about being in Gramercy with a 5-mintue walk to class and a 10-minute walk to work.

Yup, that's the one. Crazy. Is that Baruch building on 24th street as cool inside as it looks from the outside? There's a nice view of that huge main room from the top floor of this building, and I smell a swimming pool every time I walk by... makes me jealous

Yea, the interior is really nice in the Verticle Campus, it's very open, and mostly all glass; you can see strait down to the lobby from the floors above.

If you walk in (or even walk by) the 24th st. entrance you smell the pool becuase the entrance to the gym on the sub levels is right there to the right, near the turnstiles.

Thank god I do nothing more than sleep there for six hours a day. On a mattress in a like, empty room.

You lived in the nice area of Ferndale. I'm down right off 8 mile on the border of Oak Park. I can spit out the front door on the hookers and drug dealers. There's usually at least one shooting a week and lots of high-speed chases. My house used to have bars on the windows (and the brackets are still up, looks REAL nice!).

Trust me, pictures would cause some of the more "emotionally unstable" members here to probably slit their wrists.

Everyone here has some very nice and cozy dwellings.
I'll just post a few of my office for everyone to enjoy.

First, a basic view of my desk. Pictured are my Dell 24" and Gateway 22" (it gets the job done), and Samsung a930 for connecting me to the internet.

An angle shot with the PowerMac below. In the back is my Fender Strat guitar which I primarily use with Logic Pro 7.1. Please pardon the mess of wires.

A rear shot of the desk.

My favorite reading chair.

Finally, what kind of gentleman would I be without sharing the view from my office with my fellow MacNNers.

Okay, I'll bite. Here's my dorm room. We just rearranged a couple days ago so it looks fairly sparse and we haven't had time to do anything with the blank walls.

This is what makes enough noise to be heard clearly anywhere on the floor.

Our desks (mine's on the right) and awesome flowery love seat.

The vacuum cleaner is not ours, my roommate has not taken it back yet. I put it on his chair every time he leaves the room. Hopefully he'll take a hint.

This is the best shot I could get of our bedroom. It has beds stacked three high, with me on top. The dressers are also three high in front of the window so it's always dark, and there are three wardrobes squeezed in there too, leaving about 5 square feet to walk around.

Well we have a room, bedroom, and bathroom. It's technically a 'suite,' it's bigger than a normal room. I've had the same desk for two years, and I have cleaned it thoroughly within that time.

For the most part we sleep through each others alarms. It takes a while to get used to, but I guess we can do it now. FYI, the normal rooms are the size of our living room, and they have two beds, two dressers, and two wardrobes in them in addition to both desks. So our place is practically empty compared to most rooms.

I agree. Plus it's not exactly like your neighbor's house. I think the brown outlines in the columns and near the top of the roof make it more distictive and gives it more curb appeal than your neighbor. Also, your landscaping (from what I can see in the pictures) appears to add more character to your house than your neighbor.

Very nice house, Wiskedjak.

No, we like girls, we just don't "bring them back to our room." I walked in on my roommate and his girlfriend making out on the couch enough times last year.

The furniture in that dorm room looked a lot like what I had at the university of maryland. I always had issues with my roommates and their significant others, but it is all over now.
I share a 3 bedroom apt with two other students right now and I have the largest room (~12'x12'). I have more space than I know what to do with actually. Nothing on the walls so nothing picture worthy. I wouldn't even think of taking a pic of the outside of this place since it is so filthy.

Very nice house, Wiskedjak.
Thanks. We put a great deal of thought into the exterior appeal of the house in an attempt to differentiate it from all the others on the street. Almost annoyed my wife with my planning for the layout of the landscaping (lotsa golden mean going on). On the inside, both houses share the exact same floor plan. The plan had 3 different exterior options.

Bump. I want to see some more pictures.

Here's my condo, I've been here for about 1.5 years

Living room, front and back:

the projector is a BenQ PB6200. To the left of the screen is a giant floor-to-ceiling window out to the balcony. Ambient light is a serious problem for the projector, but about $30 of black-out fabric behind the drapes solves it 100%.

I ran a 50' VGA cable from the projector to my G5 in the bedroom:

I like being able to close the computer off now and then.

Also I spend a lot of time in the kitchen:

I replaced some yellow linoleum on the counters with marble tiles.

Yeah, the sound too. Surround out of this little Phillips USB box to some standard 5.1 computer speakers.
