Just notice the following from the specs sheet on Apple's site:

12"
Rev. A 47 watt-hour part number M8984G/A
Rev. B 47 watt-hour part number M9324G/A
Rev. C 50 watt-hour part number M9572G/A

15"
Rev. A 46 watt-hour part number M9325G/A
Rev. B 50 watt-hour part number M9325G/A

Notice the 15" has the same part number but the capacity is different. So I am confused now, will the 12" Rev. C fit on my Rev. B?
15"MBP/C2D2.4GHz/4GB RAM/320GB HD
15"MBP/C2D2.16GHz/3GB RAM/250GB HD
12"PB/1GHz/768MB/60GB/SuperDrive/AE
iPhone 8GB/iPod video 30GB

It might, it would be cool if it did but it might not be enough of a difference to notice anything.

The new PBs probably have the same battery life becasue even though they have a slightly bigger battery, they draw slightly more power.

I used a later-generation battery in my TiBook, and it worked perfectly, with the added bonus of extra battery life. Apple usually phases out the older batteries and sells the new ones as extras for all PowerBooks in the line. For example, with the 1GHz/867MHz TiBooks, the new battery was the only one offered as a replacement, and it was compatible with all TiBooks that came before it despite having greater energy capacity.

Due to improvements in battery technology, the capacity goes up, but Apple doesn't change the external physical aspects of the battery. So based on past history, the new batteries will work fine.
