It was not clear why he licked the wounds.
That could be the funniest thing I've read this week. And I read some pretty funny crap about a guy saying he thinks he is the reincarnation of Thomas Edison because he takes carbon supplements.

You can't become HIV positive by consuming blood.
Otherwise we would all have it, wouldn't we.

Link please. I call B.S. as usual on athens.

Do you have any idea what kind of harmful viruii and bacteria live in your mouth? You think someone else has a whole different set of viruii and bacteria in their mouths? This is the kind of FUD that helps spread HIV*.

* I am not saying that licking your own wounds could possibly give you HIV (unless, you just did something nasty mouth-related with a AIDs infected person).

Your bloody lazy you can’t look up things on the net. I found a dozen sites for and against it but this one lists both the positive and danger very well so go read if that’s not to difficult for you, the site after all is in English

OMG!!! THIS IS A SITE YOU USE TO BACK UP YOUR CLAIM?!?! ARE YOU TOO LAZY TO READ THE TEXT?!?!

At least I think it won't. See, the one problem is that your mouth also contains "anaerobic" bacteria, which thrive in airless environments such as the nooks and crannies of your teeth and gums. Normally these don't find their way into your saliva, but if they do, you'd be better off throwing yourself on a punji stake. So virulent are the anaerobic microbes that hospital emergency room personnel consider human bites to be among the most serious types of trauma. If not treated promptly this kind of wound can result in severe infection, sometimes so bad that the affected finger, or even the hand or arm, has to be amputated. The danger exists even if the spit in question is your own. Cecil knows of one case of a woman who managed to infect herself by chewing obsessively on her fingernails.
You are an idiot in the truest sense of the word athens.

How about this link?

submandibular licking and sublingual licking appeared to be very effective. 5. The results suggest that saliva promotes wound healing in experimentally induced cutaneous wounds by communal licking

How did you miss that last bit in your newest train wreck of a post?

Effect of parotid submandibular and sublingual saliva on wound healing in rats.
So, now you're posting about rats.

Like shooting fish in a barrel.

Are there any other forums on the internet where people get so riled up and eager to go for each other's throats in every other thread? I want to know, because I haven't seen any.

Why are you so incredibly hostile? Are you aware that pharmaceutical industries often test on rats in developing drugs for humans.

You must have missed the part where athens attacked my faith and spews his anti USA agenda.

So, are you saying that after drugs are tested on mice they are directly use on people?

And mice have the same bacteria in their mouths as humans?

Are you agreeing with athen's assertion that licking your wounds is more beneficial than not licking your wounds?

FYI. You cannot get HIV in any way shape or form from consuming your own blood. If you already had HIV, you're not going to contract it again, obviously.

And as for consuming others blood, yes, there is a risk. However unless you have gaping cuts in your mouth, and are literally feasting on blood, it's still unlikely you'd contract HIV from another person by licking a cut. The acid in your stomach, and inhospitable conditions in your mouth (saliva actually kills HIV) would kill the HIV virus instantly.

uhhh.. did anyone say that?

I am talking about other viruii/bacteria in the mouth and the way it would affect/infect the area of the body being licked. In other words, the lickee, and not the licker, is the one in danger. And not in any HIV/AIDS sense.

There are a lot of misconceptions about HIV. Just thought I'd add a lil info.

A lot of people on the street seem to think a pinprick of blood just touching you would mean you're infected, same with saliva, when in fact saliva kills HIV.

Not just the young, but the old also. People need to be aware of how it's possible to catch HIV, and what you need to do if you are indeed infected. Testing is very important these days, especially with how 'slutty' society is becoming.

Take a dose of your own advice.

I've stated my opinion of ignore lists before. Some comments simply cannot be ignored, such as blatant insults to one's faith or ethnicity. But it seems the mods around here think it's OK unless someone complains.
