Here is my pilot's watch. It has EVERY time zone in it and displays Local, whatever and Zulu(Greenwich) all at the same time. Has a chronograph, date day, 3 alarms and a countdown timer.

My FIL gave it to me but I've seen them in Pawnshops on occasion.
A new one is about $300-350.

He customizes both West Coast Timepieces using the top ETA movements (same movement in Omega) as well as customizing Seiko diver watches like the Orange Monster.

You'll find he can put one together for you in a classic look, similar to Omega or vintage Rolex for under your 500 limit- the ETA movement pieces are 360, the Seiko max out at 260ish. He also makes a Marathon mentioned above, but modifies it to appear like the Benrus Type I.

Read watch forums, he's very reputable, and very skilled. The man makes his own dials and hands.
Bill is very cool, but watch out for that Howard guy from West Coast Time. He totally screwed me...

I bought an O&W diver from him for $300. What I got was a watch with a completely different hand set. I contacted him, and he told me to send it back (which I did). 2 weeks later, I receive the new watch, and the hands on the watch have bend marks, and the writing on the dial is scuffed (with actual pieces of the paint rolling around under the crystal).

Now I'm a little confused, so I send him an email describing my problem. A week later, I send another email. NOTHING. It's as if the man diappeared from the earth. So not only does he half-assedly (or drunkingly) mangle the watch by trying to change the hands himself, he completes the trifecta by not reponding to any of my attempted contacts.

MORAL: Buy directly from Bill Yao @ mkII, and stay away from Howard @ West Coast Time.

I own a watch from these guys. Not too pricy and very nice looking.

My old Timex Ironman finally broke-down after about 5 years. I decided to get something a little more stylish. I didn't want to pay anything over $200, and although this retails for $250, I paid $169.

If you're serious about the quality of you timepieces, you'd be first in line for this magnificent specimen...

Personally, I prefer this, the NHC Analogica...

the timepiece of my dreams. only cost about $6K
