Well, I'd been planning to call it Luxo... but Anne and I decided that's probably overused. So we called it Rikku instead, after that perky young chick from Final Fantasy X... seems to suit the new iMac's "character" well.

does your computer throw grenades, too?

I have NO clue what to name the darn thing... I'll have to wait till the darn thing is in front of me (this sunday, barring unforseen difficulties (aka, no one being at the front desk to give it to me)). I'm thinking "electronic bonsai" "little rachuu" (tenchi muyo/inside joke reference), or a as yet come up with name.

Not to sound stupid... but what's a luxo lamp???
The short shall inherit the earth. Just you wait. You won't see us coming. We'll pop out from under tables, beds, and closets in hordes. So you're tall, huh? You won't be so tall when I chew off your ankles. Mofo

I found an Icon of Hal from 2001 Space Odessey

so it's called Hal, it's the perfect machine, uncapable of error.

I put a photo of my wife & I's wedding party on the desktop to balance things out from the weird.

Somebody has to tell me how to copy everything that's on the screen, that is too cool, and then how to paste it in this window.......

Er, joshy, you did see what happened in that movie, didn't you?

Doesn't matter, I just hope there aren't any pod bay doors in your house!

My iMac G4 is split into 2 partitions, names given below:

WarpTen: 50GB partition for OS X and all cocoa/carbon apps and files

CloudNine : 10GB partition for OS 9 and non-OS X files (I don't use Classic at all, prefer dual-boot setup)

Casper : My iPod

Yes, well let's hope that the name doesn't bring along any bad karma to the computer. I just want this iblob to live up to the hype, so far so good. Unlike the movie, I do not want things to go sour, although luckily we have no pod doors on our apartment. If it were to sabatoge my music files.........

Every Mac I've owned/worked on has been named "The Satellite of Love." Should I make good on my plans to buy a new iMac, I see no reason to mess with a good thing.
Find out just what any people will quietly submit to and you have found out the exact measure of injustice and wrong which will be imposed upon them.
