So I've been having this issue for the better part of this year and I can't seem to figure out why this happens.

Occasionally I will scroll around in a webpage (usually), but sometimes TextEdit, or Preview, or whatever... after about 10-30 minutes of me booting my computer, randomly the computer will decide to suspend scrolling for 3 seconds. Literally, I could two-finger scroll on the trackpad and the display would not change (and hence the page would not scroll) until 3 seconds later, so scrolling hangs for the time being. Occasionally, the cursor stays stuck for 3 seconds instead of scrolling being suspended for 3 seconds. I get these kinds of error messages in my console around the time it happens:

9/19/14 9:04:21.257 AM sandboxd[290]: ([325]) storeuid(325) deny mach-lookup com.apple.dock.server
9/19/14 9:04:23.801 AM Console[943]: Failed to connect (_consoleX) outlet from (NSApplication) to (ConsoleX): missing setter or instance variable
9/19/14 9:04:24.272 AM coreservicesd[103]: SFLEntryBase::ListHasChanged mach_msg returned 10000004d
9/19/14 9:04:24.303 AM sharingd[204]: 09:04:24.303 : Stopping Handoff advertising
9/19/14 9:04:24.420 AM sandboxd[290]: ([325]) storeuid(325) deny mach-lookup com.apple.dock.server
9/19/14 9:04:25.508 AM ntpd[146]: FREQ state ignoring -0.158486 s
9/19/14 9:04:26.308 AM sharingd[204]: 09:04:26.307 : Stopping Handoff advertising

And then a full report will sometimes be available within the Console (see end of post):

But this happens once only, and then doesn't usually occur again until the subsequent reboot.

What's going on?

And now my whole computer just froze.

But I didn't see anything in Console except for the normal messages at the time of freeze...

how do I track this down??

The hard drive could be on its way out. Try verifying it from Disk Utility.

I did, everything seemed green according to Disk Utility.

I can't imagine that I would need a third hard drive replacement after my fiasco with the first two.

I have the same problem.. scroll will stop then it will scroll like crazy to make up for the time it stopped, sometimes the mouse will stop moving then reappear at the other end.. And i'm not even talking about the slow performance, constant slugginess (I have a brand new MBP with 16 GB ram and the bigger video card), the sleep problem (computer will wake up every 2 seconds, lighting up my external monitor and spinning my external HD).. it will also "improperly" eject my SD card when I sleep, and I noticed OS X's performance is worse when I leave my SD mounted. Also, my wifi performance is disastrous.. I would lose Internet for whole minutes, sometimes more with no apparent reason... all my problems are reproducible with another user account and even on yosemite's bet on another HD...

If it's new with all these issues, I'd take it to an Apple Store and get a replacement.

And.reg's main problem is that he's running a pre-release version of 10.10 that is only supported through the developer channels, which he has no access to.

And using a beta OS for your main computer is a "less than optimal" choice.

Once again it's that stupid _consoleX error message:

Code:
10/13/14 11:20:33.224 AM Console[376]: Failed to connect (_consoleX) outlet from (NSApplication) to (ConsoleX): missing setter or instance variable
This time I could move the cursor around, but then I couldn't click on anything and then everything I clicked on wouldn't respond for like 10 seconds and then it all happened at once.

[...two months later...]

Guys, is anyone else having this problem on a regular basis or just me?

I've already refreshed my whole OS and the problem persists:

Code:
12/15/14 9:23:23.859 AM Console[584]: Failed to connect (_consoleX) outlet from (NSApplication) to (ConsoleX): missing setter or instance variable

And I also notice this one out of 1000 times when I am typing, for example, if I type any key, it won't type onto the screen. I have to press it a second time, but on the first time that's when I get the "Failed to connect (_consoleX)" error message.
