well my xbox 360 just red ring of deathed out of no where and my hate for microsoft is slowing creeping back up, does any one know if sony fixed the ps3 1080i problems?

I have an HDTV that does 480i/480p/1080i but no 720p, im hoping things were fixed but a quick google search does not appear that anything has been worked out

anyone using ps3 without a 1080i tv and no longer having problems?

Not only that, but if you're lucky, you'll get an HDMI premium back...

yea i looked at the firmware update but it has not fixed the 1080i problem as sony would like you to think...

even the first line of the article states "There is an outstanding 1080i problem on the PlayStation 3. This problem has not been fixed by today's 1.30 firmware update."

If you again also, that article is old. v1.30 isn't the current firmware, v1.92 is. The DVD Scaling and so forth has been addressed the last few updates ago, also the issue with Resistance was the game itself was programed to 720p as the fixed res and the system dropped it down to 480p on 1080i only sets. Most new games are now using the scaler via the games, to allow them to scale up to 1080i. Uncharted: Drakes Fortune is doing this for sure, and I believe Killzone 2 is as well.
