I backed up about a gig of my personal work, photography and various other graphic stuff, via .sit, then copied it to a PC via samba... which i've done many times before, except, this time, when i tried to unstuff the file, it refused, its CORRUPT! I'm about to go crazy or break down or something!!!!

Is there anything (software, something like that) that can help me get my files back, short of paying a professional data recovery expert?

on a side note: the stuffit archive is still toast, but i did managed to extract all the zipped files from within the archive using Ashampoo's Zip Repairer on a PC... which isnt really of a lot of use to me, but it helps. I tried a bunch of data recovery stuff, but that didnt seem to help, it appears that when it was compressed, it was corrupted. :/
