Bit of a miracle too, can't imagine how anyone could survive this.

Impressive. I wonder if that hurted. Hopefully she will recover well.

My problem is, that I am so unstable that I am near to a circulatory collaps when reading this. I find things like that just too disgusting.

Not just her external skin too, but parts of her insides started to peel away. It is horrendous to even think about it, but so glad she survived.
Astounding what can happen.

Glad someone mentioned Jesus before I did, anyone notice the obvious intentional comment by the mum that they prayed?

A woman loses her skin, and all you can do is point out that they prayed?

Anyway. I think people are misinterpreting this. I doubt she lost *all* her skin, and I don't know what the deal with the "skin on her internal organs" comment is.

Pretty poorly written article.

They probably meant membranes when referring to the internal organs. Anyways, yes, I agree.. the article is intended as one of those miracle stories. I don't know if I can believe in that stuff.. or even what the point of believing in it is. Instead, I would prefer to appreciate the hard work and the sacrifice that the doctors and nurses put in over that 48 hour timeframe.

Congratulations to the doctors, and to the patients determination.

Lame story. It's a rare reaction and it's excellent that she survived (many do not), but there's a reason it already has name (actually multiple names). It's not as if it is the first time it's ever happened.

It seems that those who pray, but die anyway, are not praying quite hard enough.

At least once a day, if I'm not busy at the track, I pray that my skin will not fall off in large sheets. So far it's been 100% effective and I can therefore recommend it as a prophylactic measure.

Happened to me as well back in 1988, when I was working in Israel on a building site, thankfully not nearly as bad as this. I discovered very painfully, and with blisters all over my body that I'm allergic to Sulpher based antibiotics. Fortunately, after the very first tablet, I stopped taking them.

That is truly a miracle. I do believe that prayer is effective. These kinds of things are out of our hands. It is not for us to understand why these things happen.

Yes, I was wondering what she had done to piss off god in the first place, to be so beset by plague.
