Is there any piece of software that allows me to manage downloads? For instance, on Windows, using BitTorrent, you can right-click and "download with BitTorrent".

Thank you in advanced,

If you want Bittorrent downloads to start automatically, get Transmission and set it to watch your Downloads folder for *.torrents.

Or if you're just looking for a HTTP/FTP download manager, pick one of these: MacUpdate

Another Transmission user here. I definitely stand by this application. To do what moep says simple go to menu bar:
Transmission > Preferences > Transfers > click "Auto Add" and select the folder in which you want it to look for your downloaded .torrent files.
Good Luck!

You can also set Azureus to watch a folder.

I have Firefox set to automatically open .torrents with Transmission. No folder watching necessary.

Thank you all. What I meant was HTTP/FTP download manager. I checked the link moep provided, but couldn't find one with Safari integration or free.

Safari has an HTTP download manager built in.

I know, but the thing is that on some files I can get the file to pause, while on others I can't.

Resumable downloads are a server-side feature, AFAIK.

I kind of read that once, but how come my friend on his PC can resume the same download that I can't using BitTorrent?

Huh? BitTorrent and HTTP downloads are completely different.

Apparently BitTorrent on Windows has a HTTP download function or something. He told me that he right-clicked what he wanted to download and hit Download using BitTorrent. =/

At which point it would open the BitTorrent application and begin downloading the torrent file(s) using the BT protocols using a compatible application (Azureus, µTorrent, Transmission, etc.). This happens outside anything HTTP.
