I installed KDE and gnome using fink. KDE launches automatically when I launch Apple's X11. How do I switch it so that gnome launches instead?

Your .xinitrc script gets run when you launch X11. ( this is X11-101) Check your .xinitrc file and the global xinitrc file (somewhere in /etc/X11).

Here's what some of my scripts look like:

[motherg4:~] whschult% cat .xinitrc.kde
exec startkde
[motherg4:~] whschult% cat .xinitrc.gnome
exec gnome-session
[motherg4:~] whschult%
