I honestly am not sure what you mean.

It's pretty bog-standard inpatient mental health treatment. Distract the patient until they run out of steam.

While it would normally be preferred to do that at an actual facility, things get slippery when the person in question is a mental health professional. They know how to work the system.

I can take a few days of pain if at the end it means someone sees light at the end of the tunnel.

Your actions put you in the incredibly good and caring friend camp, but I suspect what CPT is hinting at is it also puts you in the friend-zoned wuss camp.

Nothing so chauvinistic. I've been the friend who has to hold all the others together before and it sucks.

I'm can certainly accept the accusation of friend-zoned in stride, but I'm not so sure about wuss.

Wuss! While you can take being friend-zoned in stride, we're still hardwired to take care of females in distress and far too many take advantage of it.

I'll agree with that.

FWIW was actually one of the rare times I can say I felt a sense of genuine satisfaction when it was over. Usually I just feel like I was forced to be someone's ennui dump.

I agree on that too, and this person has been guilty of that in the past. Likewise, I can be an easy mark in that department.

However was clear this reached the threshold of "okay... this time it isn't a game".

I'm not going to bother changing them, but man those last few posts suffered from some poor editing.

YOU GUYS. YOU GUYS.

24 Hours of LeMons - Rally

1500 MILES THROUGH DEATH VALLEY IN AUGUST, PREFERABLY IN TERRIBLE, GARBAGE CARS.

Here's what makes this difficult for me - I've been offered a 1969 Cougar for free. The engine might work. The transmission might work. It has been thoroughly wrecked at all four corners and the body is a mess.

It could probably be made road worthy for about $1000. Then it would be off to do about 5500 miles in one week in the desert in August with no AC. This sounds like fun to me.

Stay out of direct sunlight as much as possible, bring plenty of water.

Oh, and if you plan on parking there for any extended period of time, bring a shovel.

Got it running yesterday. It's been parked for 38 years. I rebuilt the carb and threw on a new cap, rotor, wires, and plugs and it fired right up. I'll see if I can get a title for it. If so, I'll drag it home to my garage, where I have light.

Apart from the aforementioned indication one has given up on life altogether, what other nasty things do people have to say about the Juke?

And yes, she'd test drive it first, only looking for opinions like the Veloster having crummy build quality. Stuff you don't necessarily find out on a test drive but you know because cars give you a stiffie and shit.

The turbo makes it peppy but means a higher potential for long-term headaches. They had a big timing chain issue initially, but Nissan issued a service recall to fix that.

Nissan recalling 104k Juke models over faulty timing chain [UPDATE]

Some people hate the CVT, drive it and see how you feel about it, they're polarizing. I don't mind them, and they generally go against everything I stand for with cars.

When you've got a Tesla with the 'Summon' command, a Home link garage door, an Amazon Echo speaker and can do programming, of course you're going to hack them together to get the car out of the garage by voice control.

Watch Amazon's Alexa summon a Tesla Model S out of a garage | The Verge

and then film it with a drone camera (not a swarm of bees )

It'll be much easier if you just comply.

You can find a lot of those around here, for obvious reasons.
The new Mac Pro has up to 30 MB of cache inside the processor itself. That's more than the HD in my first Mac. Somehow I'm still running out of space.

Why did Mitusbishi stop making little, sporty cars.

I've always owned sedans, and maybe that's why I was taken with the Giulia.

It's the safe... practical choice..... truth be told, i'm just trying very hard to convince myself that i don't want this:

Almost every review of this car that i've seen, has said that it just puts a smile on the driver's face. And just look at it! It's a mini Ferrari with a price tag to match! I might be getting ahead of myself here, but this car seems to evoke the same emotions in me as a '67-ish Mustang or a '70s VW Beetle.

Cheers

Took my wife's car to the local Alfa dealer for some bodywork and they had one of those in the detailing bay. Very striking in person.

It's a great weekend car; very agile and quick, especially for the given power rating. It feels every bit like a mini-Ferrari. Awfully uncomfortable for any extended period of time, though.

There seems to be genuine motivation to test drive the Juke.

The plan is to rent a GTI for the trip out... give it a little unfair competition.
