Hadn't heard of this before, but it looks pretty awesome. Street fighter meets Final Fantasy. Loads of gameplay previews here:

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning - Curse Exclusive - Combat Featurette - YouTube!

And the official website:

Thoughts? Could keep me busy till D3 comes out.

Fighting / aiming down sight / not falling off cliffs is far easier in first person than in third person. And more natural.

In my very limited gaming life, I don't like ANY 3rd person scenarios ( cars, flying, people whatever).

I prefer third person as well. Peripheral vision is a major asset for me, and I never had issues with fighting/aiming/ or falling off cliffs unless the control is just screwed up.

Not even Mass Effect? I generally prefer FP but thought both games made very good use of third person.

Never played Mass Effect sorry. I was a Cod whore until Skyrim (thank the gods playable in 1st person) came out.

I've tried to like 3rd person games but it just doesn't agree with me.

It's possible that this would be playable in first person... though I'm not sure it would be advantageous. I'm most excited about the combo system, it looks different from most other RPGs.

Ok, well I guess I'd just suggest keeping an open mind. You're missing out on some great titles if you're writing off anything with 3rd person perspective. ME, Red Dead Redemption, and Fable (2 being my fav) are the first that come to mind from the last couple of years.

I enjoyed Fable 2. I even got through a bit of Red Dead. I played Arkham City and didn't like it at all - kept bumping into walls in those close quarters battles. I do realize that I have written off some VERY good games due to my own inability to do well with 3rd person. But I will keep an open mind.
