Kind of like asking would you rather fart loudly in a crowded restaurant or a crowded airplane. A wet fart at that.

I guess it's a matter of perspective. When I got my drivers license in the mid 70s, the Porsche 911 was was my dream car. But I've grown up and the world has changed. I've had a Volkswagen, a number of Volvos and Toyotas, and now I'm driving a 2013 Prius. I love it. It's safe, economical, relatively environmentally friendly and it gets me from point A to point B.

If I ever get to the point where I would want some crappy SUV over any Porsche, I'll throw myself under the SUV.

Every car is essentially useless on ice, unless you're using studded tires.

This was my rental car in Philly a few months back. Literally everything about it was awful. It is the anti-driving experience.

You can remove the whale tail, and even a beat-up 911 is a hoot to drive. Just carry along a hammer and a couple extra quarts of oil and you're set.

Classic, sexy, fun, cool, German engineering. Goes round corners. No contest.

Wouldn't surprise me if its better off road too.

Yep, it's "which would you rather drive", and it's really no contest. Unless there's something mechanically wrong with it, which isn't implied in the question, the Porsche will always be a better drive.

There is the Porsche Cayenne (AKA Volkswagen Touareg) but it doesn't have a whale tail.

It's a beat-up Porsche....in my limited experience there is indeed a lot that can go wrong with an old beat-up Porsche, German or no. But yes, way better to drive.

There are too many unknown variables here.

Am I just given the car? I'll take a new Tahoe and sell it. I could probably buy a used Porsche and have money left over.

I can't drive a stick, so I feel a Porsche is kinda pointless. Isn't Rob's a convertible? No ****ing way I drive a convertible. Roll cage FTW.

I don't fix cars, so an old car is trouble waiting to happen.

All that said, the 911 has the golden hood:ass ratio.

a porsche might be fun to drive for an afternoon, but I suspect the Tahoe would be more useful on a daily basis. Depends if the Tahoe has extended cab?

The tail is supposedly to keep the lighter rear end from going light, as the whole thing is sort of an airfoil shape that generates lift at high speed. I wonder if that is actually a concern? Could there possibly be enough lift to reduce traction and control?

Most spoilers are 'upside down wings' to generate downforce which equals grip. Is it the Ferrari F50 which is supposed to be able to drive upside down and still stick to the ceiling if you can keep it over 150mph?

The Enzo (and the Koenigsegg CCXR).

I'm sure the rumour long predates the existence of the Enzo. The F50 is the one with the mental rear wing though right?

The F50 and F40 both had pretty good-sized rear wings, but that "can drive upside" rumor gets rehashed every time an aerodynamic car comes out.

Even a beat-up Porsche is going to be more fun to drive than a Tahoe. It depends, though, on what kind of drive. An afternoon romping around on twisty backroads? Porsche. No question. On the other hand, if we're talking about a couple of days driving cross-country on Interstates, the Tahoe.

On balance, though...The Porsche. I'd find the closest track-day event and flog the crap out of it all day long. With a big grin on my face.
