I'm not sure I'm in the right forum, but oh well.
I was passing a very large folder to my external hard drive when the computer I was using froze, so I had to shut it down manually. I get home and try to use the hard drive and it won't mount!
Disk Utility and System Profiler both fail to see the hard drive, but I it showed once when I ran "diskutil list" in Terminal.app. It said that it had a FDisk format. I did some googling and apparently my MBR is damaged/lost/whatever?
Does this means that I lost all my data? My school work? My precious music?
Anyways, if someone could help me I would really appreciate it
Thanks in advanced,
Hg+

Thanks for the suggestion fisherKing. It worked! I analized the hard disk surface and in the process it mounted.
Thanks again

PS: No, I did not lose my precious music.

Make sure that from now on you have regular backups, especially if your music is so precious to you.

That is my backup disk. I had to send my Mac to Apple, so I'm using it as my main disk right now.

Just to be sure I formatted the hard drive to Mac OS Extended (Journaled). I don't know if it was wise choice since I am around many Windows computers, but I mainly transfer files to Mac OS X and Ubuntu.
