On Tuesday, Apple made available for registered OS X public beta testers the same
sixth beta of 10.10.4 released on Monday to developers. The build, 14E36b, came less than a week after the fifth beta, which debuted at Apple's Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) -- suggesting that the update could be nearing release.
In the previous builds, testers were asked to focus on data migration from previous systems, system-level tools, and the new Photos app. Since OS X 10.10.4 will need to support Apple's new Music services, it is likely to see a final release on or near June 30, leaving time for an additional beta to be rolled out next week if needed.
Apple Music trial signup seen in latest iOS 9 beta
Users who are running the latest public and developer beta of iOS 8.4, including some
MacNN staffers, have reported that the program is now prompting users to sign up for the three-month free trial of Apple Music's paid component, the Apple Music Library that allows customers to stream over 30 million songs from the iTunes Music Store, and in some cases save the content for later offline listening.
Note the unfinished button on the main signup screen
The free trial is not actually active yet, as the service will launch on June 30. However, users playing with the Music App can choose the "Start Trial" option, and are then prompted for their choice of plan options for when the free trial is over -- the $10 per month individual plan, or the $15 per month "family" plan, that supports giving completely separate accounts to up to six users, however at this point users cannot actually sign up. There is also an (unfinished) button that works to skip to the Music app's lightly-redesigned normal interface.
