My 7800's fan is really loud; is yours?

I have a Quad with 7800 card. I had read reports of Quads being really quiet, but mine reminds me of a hair dryer blowing in the next room.
Then I opened up the Quad's case, and used my finger to momentarily stop the 7800's fan, and the noise stopped! That thing's fan is about 5 times as loud as all my Quad's fans, combined (the Quad itself is whisper quiet; congrats to Apple for that!).
But have other people noticed high fan noise on their 7800 cards? Again, I read some early reports that the 7800 was quiet, but this one is not. I'm just trying to determine if this is normal.
One more thing: the 7800's fan never gets louder, even when playing a game for a long period of time. It's set at one speed--loud.
Any help appreciated....

May be a stupid question, but does everything line up on the NV Silencer 5 to the MAC edition cards? I know that the 6800GT that I have, is different from "windows" 6800GTs. They have DVI outs AND a TV out. I don't. Just curious if everything lines up, and if you would need to customize anything.... I want to buy one as well.

I know the NV Silencer 5 (3rd Edition) works perfectly fine on a GeForce 6800 Ultra Mac Edition.

heh its like PC modding again after reading those articles. Whats worse is those 3rd party fans are even bigger!
I wonder if thats why the 7800 is louder than the 6800, look how thin the 7800 heatsink is so more vibration... it looks quite tin foil like in a way over the 6800.

Yes I have a Dual 2.3 with a 7800 card and I can confirm you that it's quite noisy, exactly like yours. And I was surprised that nobody pointed before out how loud it is. I guess it's a tradeoff: if you want a powerful graphic card you must give up silence. But still...
